Car Rental Requirements
Age Requirements
Rental car age restrictions vary by vehicle type, location, and supplier. Usually, the minimum age to rent a car is 21, and the maximum is 80. Young and senior drivers incur an additional charge, and the same will be specified in the t&c’s.
Credit Card
A credit card must be provided in the primary driver’s name upon pick-up. Car rental companies typically accept credit cards from major financial institutions such as Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and UnionPay for payment and security deposits.
Proof of Identity
To confirm your identity, a valid ID card or passport will be required when collecting the vehicle from the supplier’s branch location. A national ID will suffice in most cases for domestic renters however, a passport will be required for international renters.
Driver’s License
During pick-up the driver must present a full and valid driving license held for at least 1 year (with no major endorsements). An International Driving Permit (IDP) is required if DL of primary or any additional drivers is not issued in Roman alphabet.
